About Lord Krishna

The all-attractive Supreme Person

The name Krishna means "the all-attractive one." The Vedic scriptures describe Him as the Supreme Personality of Godhead — full of eternity, knowledge and bliss — who appeared five thousand years ago in Vrindavan as a cowherd boy, playing His flute and charming everyone with His pastimes.

In the Bhagavad-gita He teaches that every living being is His eternal part, and that the soul's natural happiness is found in loving service to Him — bhakti-yoga. Chanting His holy names is the simplest way to reawaken that love.
